3. TE Jordan Reed

Jordan Reed was supposed to be in for a resurgent season for the Redskins. Alas, he was never given the chance to produce.

In the third preseason game, Reed took a shot to the head from Falcons safety Keanu Neal. At the time, he popped right up and got in Neal’s face. But shortly thereafter, he was declared out with a concussion.

While Jay Gruden initially expressed confidence that Reed would return for the team’s Week 1 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Reed wasn’t able to practice. The same thing happened in Week 2.

And so it went on from week to week until the team finally elected to place him on IR.

Reed ended up playing in zero games in 2019 through no fault of his own. It was all because of a dirty hit by Neal.

At this point, it’s time for the Redskins to move on from Reed. They should first see if he elects to retire — there have been reports that he may never play against because of his concussion issues. But if he doesn’t, it’s time for the team to find another option at the position and give Reed a chance to finish out his career as a role player on a contender.
