Five players the Redskins must consider moving on from in 2020
4. CB Fabian Moreau
Coming into this season, Jay Gruden was hyping up Fabian Moreau a bit. It seemed that the third-year player was ready to make the leap and become a quality cornerback at the NFL level.
Safe to say, he hasn’t lived up to expectations.
Moreau has operated as the team’s slot corner for most of the season. He has been a massive weakness and has trouble staying with a number of receivers over the course of the season. He has allowed many big plays and simply doesn’t look to be a fit in the slot.

Moreau could still have a chance to be a productive corner in the NFL. And perhaps he’d be a better fit on the outside. But so far, his three-year tenure in Washington has been a disappointment. He barely makes any plays on the ball (one pass defensed this season) and looks more like a backup-caliber player at this stage in his development.
If the Redskins want to overhaul their cornerback group, Moreau could end up being a casualty. They could opt to give Jimmy Moreland a chance to compete for the slot spot along with some free agent additions and draft picks.
Moving on from Moreau would only cost the Redskins $0.2 million in dead cap space. So, it’s feasible that if the new coach doesn’t like his skill set, he could be looking for a job in 2020.
