The Jacksonville Jaguars decision to trade Jalen Ramsey was one that was met with initial resistance from Jacksonville’s front office. Some didn’t want to see Ramsey go, but in the end, it may have been the best option, to ship away an expensive, discontent defensive star for a first-round pick, which could then be used to revitalize a once-great defense.

Earlier in this mock, the Jaguars acquired Ramsey’s direct replacement by picking LSU cornerback Kristian Fulton. Now, they add to their defensive line rotation, and prepare for the potential departure of Yannick Ngaokue, all at once.

Iowa’s A.J. Epenesa received top ten hype ahead of the 2019 season, and while he hasn’t been the outright dominant player some expected him to be, he’s done enough to maintain his status as a surefire first-round pick in April.

Epenesa offers intriguing size at 6-foot-6, 280, and he brings a certain power at the point of attack that’s rare among collegiate prospects. Epenesa could still fall for a number of reasons; positional obscurity could send him down draft boards, as that’s happened to similar prospects in the past. Epenesa also lacks the quick twitch that other edge rushers have. With all that said, however, Epenesa’s best traits buoy his game, and for the Jaguars, he’d provide a young, versatile threat on the defensive line.
