4. The Reality Is, the current players and coaches will continue to play hard.

Dwayne Haskins will officially get his first NFL start this week by default, as Case Keenum’s extended stay in the concussion protocol made it impossible for him to play on Sunday. Other than spot duty in the second half, there may be no worse situation for a rookie quarterback than to start without the full affirmation and support of his organization.

But I fully expect Haskins to look better than his prior action this season, as he’s gotten the full week of preparation. Terry McLaurin, Adrian Peterson, Ryan Kerrigan, Jon Allen, Daron Payne, and Landon Collins aren’t the type of leaders to allow their teammates to give anything less than 100 percent regardless of their circumstances.

So even though this is a lost season with an interim head coach, this team will continue to fight for one another.

My Prediction: Lots of turnovers, more scoring than expected, Haskins finally has a few splash plays, but it all adds up to another loss for the ‘Skins. Buffalo wins 23-17.
