Redskins: Five pleasant surprises halfway through the 2019 season

No. 2 – Terry McLaurin enabling god-mode at wide receiver
We still haven’t settled on a nickname yet, but Terry McLaurin isn’t waiting for us to come up with one.
The rookie from Ohio State has taken control of the Redskins offense this season. Through seven played games, McLaurin has 28 catches for 458 yards and five touchdowns. He’s been the offense’s only dynamic threat, and he’s flourished in the role.
McLaurin may only be a rookie, but he wins with a veteran-like attention to detail, combined with natural game-breaking speed. Getting separation is the name of the game in the NFL, and McLaurin isn’t just the best rookie separator; he’s one of the best separators in the league.
Quarterback issues have stemmed his production as of late, but as long as McLaurin gets open as often as he does, he’ll have another breakout game soon. It’s just a matter of time. For a third-round pick, he has already soared past his expectations.
