Stud No. 3 – K Dustin Hopkins

How about some love for the special teamers? They’re all we got, after all.

For the past two weeks, Redskins punter Tress Way represented Washington’s special teams unit on the studs and duds list. But he’s a stud every week, so we needed some differentiation in Week 8. Luckily for us, kicker Dustin Hopkins had a very solid outing in Minnesota.

Hopkins attempted three field goals, and he made all three, with a long of 43 yards. Until last night, Hopkins was just five for eight on the year. With this boost, he’s now eight for 11, and he’s starting to find some consistency.

The Redskins offense failed to find the end zone for the second straight game last night, but their offense was operating efficiently at certain points. Hopkins made sure that efficiency wasn’t entirely wasted, and he deserves recognition for that.
