Stud No. 3 – Quinton Dunbar

The scales were naturally tipped to the defense by the weather conditions on Sunday, but that shouldn’t take away from what the best defenders were able to do.

Redskins No. 1 cornerback Quinton Dunbar had another very good outing in what is becoming a breakout 2019 campaign. He logged one pass deflection, which came right before Apke’s pivotal interception, and Dunbar’s sticky coverage, even in the torrential rain, forced Garoppolo to look elsewhere time and time again.

Now, in five games, Dunbar has three interceptions and five pass deflections, and as of Sunday morning, he was Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded cornerback, with an elite grade of 92.4. His grade isn’t likely to change much after another shutdown performance, and he’s quickly separating himself as the team’s best defensive back.
