Redskins Week 7 Reality Checks – The Shanahan Revenge Game

5. The Reality Is, the Redskins best chance to win this week is to win ugly.

They might be able to run the ball against the 49ers. They might be able to win the field position battle. They might be able to keep the 49ers offense from putting up too many points. They might be able to win the turnover battle.

If they can do all those things and keep the game close into the fourth quarter, the Redskins just might  be able to come out with an ugly win. 10-point home underdogs don’t win pristine games. Teams coming off a sketchy last-minute wins against the worst team in the league don’t turn around and route 5-0 teams. If the Redskins win this week, it will be an ugly one.

My Prediction: I’m trying to be optimistic, but I don’t see it. I think it will be an ugly game, and I think the Redskins will fight hard. But I don’t think they’ll be able to overcome a team as talented as San Francisco coming in carrying their head coach’s chip on their shoulder. 49ers win safely: 24-13.
