3. The Reality Is, there is likely another shoe to drop at some point this season.

The Redskins missed their best opportunity to fire Greg Manusky this season after the Giants game. To get embarrassed by the Patriots in a game where the offense looked completely anemic didn’t reflect nearly as badly on Manusky and his defense as the debacle in New Jersey had. It’s obvious to any educated observer that Manusky has not been able to get the best out of an ostensibly talented defensive unit this year. It’s also obvious that Bill Callahan didn’t think more staff changes this week were in the best interest of the team.

But if the defense doesn’t improve dramatically over the next 3-4 weeks, look for Manusky to be let go no later than the bye week. The problem with Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder not acknowledging their failures in management is that they need a continuous stream of sacrificial lambs to offer up on the altar of fanbase accountability. Manusky’s days in D.C. are numbered.
