2. The Reality Is, the Redskins should not be trying to win this game.

You know it, I know it, Dan Snyder knows it, Bruce Allen knows it, Bill Callahan knows it, and the Dolphins know it. But Allen and Snyder believe we aren’t smart enough to perceive the desperation of their situation or savvy enough to watch how successful organizations around the league are run.

As a result, they have their new head coach working extremely hard this week to get a win, by which they can achieve two goals: squander their best chance at accumulating quality assets to help build a future winner AND reinforce their false narrative that it was simply Jay Gruden holding them back from being successful.

The players will play hard, as they should. But the organization will put them in position to pursue a win this week, when they should be working toward longer-term goals.
