Goal No. 3 – Get young players more involved in the offense

By now, the Redskins 2019  focus should have been shifted toward development. Thus, it goes without saying that getting young players more reps will be key moving forward.

We’ve seen Washington’s young players show strides in recent weeks. Terry McLaurin started off the season on a torrid pace, and last week, Steven Sims Jr. gave the offense life with his speed and quick change-of-direction skills. The Redskins need to start laying a foundation for the future, and that involves getting these players more of an offensive value share.

Ideally, this would also be the time to start Dwayne Haskins, and help him get acclimated to the pace of the NFL through live reps. But the Redskins have shown us that they care more about “getting the best chance to win” when they’re already 0-4. So expecting them to have their priorities in order might be ambitious. Still, the team’s youth is a priority at this point, especially on offense.
