1. This will be either Jay Gruden and/or Greg Manusky’s final game

The Redskins coaching staff is on very, very thin ice at the moment. The team was embarrassed during their Monday night loss to the Chicago Bears and after an 0-3 start to the season, the team could be looking to make some changes, especially if they have trouble taking on the Giants.

If the Redskins win this game, it’s possible that their coaching staff could be spared at least for another week. But if they can’t win, Daniel Snyder may decide that it’s time for a change. And if so, Jay Gruden and/or Greg Manusky would likely be on the chopping block.

Given that the ‘Skins haven’t fired a head coach in-season since Norv Turner in 2000, they may not be willing to part with Gruden just yet. But if the team fails to put up a good effort in a critical game against the Giants. That could truly be the end of his tenure in Washington. Conversely, if the team isn’t ready to move on from Gruden, they could relieve Manusky of his duties while giving Ray Horton or Rob Ryan a chance to run the defense. That may the team’s move of choice if they think that they’re best served to hold on to Gruden at least until the bye week.

Still, patience isn’t something that front offices always exercise. And if the team does suffer another bad loss, it might be time to move on. So, our bold prediction is that one of these coaches — if not, both — will be gone following the game against the Giants. There are no guarantees, but if that happens, the team could start preparing for the future and figure out who they want to see lead this franchise.
