2. S Jeremy Reaves

Jeremy Reaves was one of the players at the safety position that had a chance to prove themselves in Washington’s decent-at-best safety corps. And he certainly has delivered.

After a good first three preseason games, Reaves put forth one of his best performances against the Ravens. He led the team in tackles with eight and was able to notch a pass breakup in the contest as well.

Reaves showed great energy, athleticism, and instincts as he was able to make life a bit more difficult for the Ravens’ receivers. He really was able to be all over the field and consistently found himself in an area where he would be able to make a play.

In this analyst’s opinion, Reaves has done more than enough to secure a roster spot with this team. He’s still young, has upside, and is a well-rounded player who should be a special teams contributor at the very least. The Redskins should certainly keep him around and at this point in time, it seems like they will.

Reaves could end up being one of those classic diamond-in-the-rough type stories for Washington. We’ll soon see if he gets a chance to remain with the squad, but things are certainly looking good.
