No. 1 – Redskins TE Jordan Reed

If the Redskins are going to have anything more than an average-to-below average offensive unit in 2019, they’ll need one of their dynamic talents to stay healthy and produce. Whether that’s Derrius Guice or Jordan Reed or some unproven receiver, Case Keenum and Dwayne Haskins aren’t going to glean winning production from a cast like last year’s, or even the year before.

Consequently, it brings both light excitement and heavy expectation to hear that Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has had an excellent offseason to this point. He made a great first impression on the first day of training camp, reportedly looking more spry than ever, and while he hasn’t played in preseason yet, reporters have been bullish on his appearance this summer.

In Week 3, it’ll be interesting to see how the Redskins handle Reed. It seems as if he’s healthy, but with his spotty injury history, the team could decide to hold him out for the entirety of preseason, to preserve his tools for the regular season.

If he does see the field, however, keep an eye out for the old Jordan Reed. He hasn’t made consistent appearances since 2015, but with yet another full offseason to heal and prepare, perhaps he could have one or two more peak years left in the tank.
