Houston Texans

There are some issues with the Texans. The offensive line might still be unsatisfactory, and health is spotty on both sides of the ball. There’s also uncertainty surrounding the ceiling of Bill O’Brien as a head coach; he led them to an 11-5 record last year, but they were smoked in the first round of the playoffs by the Colts.

O’Brien can get them back; Deshuan Watson is an exciting talent at quarterback, and he’s elevated the Texans’ offense before. They’ve also maintained their imposing defense from years past. J.J. Watt, D.J. Reader, Jadeveon Clowney, Whitney Mercilus, and Charles Omenihu comprise a fearsome front, while Zach Cunningham and Benardrick McKinney man the middle.

The Texans secondary gives me some doubts, but the core of the team is good enough to edge back into the playoffs. They likely won’t get far once they reach that point, but Deshaun Watson and J.J Watt will make sure they get there.

Houston Texans Record Prediction: 9-7
