Was there ever any doubt that Joe Jacoby would top this list? Jacoby was signed by the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Louisville. And he turned out to be one of the best investments that Bobby Beathard and Joe Gibbs made during their tenures with the team.

Jacoby was one of the leaders of the Hogs. He was a two-time All-Pro at left tackle. And, of course, he helped bring a Super Bowl to Washington.

During his NFL career, Jacoby appeared in 170 games and 148 starts. He began his career at left tackle before moving to the right side of the line after the team acquired Jim Lachey. He proved to be an excellent, versatile player for the Redskins and was certainly the team’s most talented offensive lineman in history.

The only thing that Jacoby is lacking from his resume is a Hall of Fame nod. He should have been inducted years ago, but the voters opted to induct others. While Jacoby’s time on the normal ticket — 15 years after his playing career ended — has passed, he could still get in via a veteran ticket.

That has to happen at some point soon. He certainly is the most deserving Redskin not yet in the Hall of Fame.
