No. 23 – Denver Broncos

Expectations won’t be crazy high for Vic Fangio and the Broncos in 2019, which is good, because they’ve still got some work to do, in terms of building the roster.

The Broncos defense is well-staffed, and it should be the best part of Fangio’s squad in 2019. Linebacker is an area where more proven assets could be had, but Josey Jewell and Todd Davis are serviceable. In the secondary, Justin Simmons is a breakout candidate, and former Bears cornerback Bryce Callahan should mesh quickly in Denver’s scheme.

Denver’s offense figures to be less potent, although there is room for optimism. Joe Flacco is quarterbacking the unit, but offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello is a member of the Kyle Shanahan coaching tree. Thus, he has a background to have confidence in. With ascending offensive weapons such as Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, and Noah Fant, the Broncos can put up more points in 2019.

2019 may not be the year that the Broncos put it all together, and get back to the AFC Championship, but the team has potential over the next few years. In 2019, we should see glimpses of that potential.
