20. player. 55. . Cornerback. Washington. Byron Murphy

The Steelers seem to have grown tired of former first-round pick Artie Burns. Currently, they have Joe Haden and Steve Nelson as their top two corners on defense, but they could stand to add more talent to help with coverage in the slot.

There is no consensus top corner in this class, but if I had to bet, I’d say Byron Murphy would come off the board first. The Washington product is undersized, but he’s a ballhawk and a playmaker. He can play outside or in the slot, though the latter position may be his better fit at the next level.

The Steelers could find the right way to use Murphy and finally have some reliable players in coverage. With Murphy, Nelson, and Haden, the Steelers would have three players they are comfortable with starting, and that would push Burns into a depth role — if he even makes the team.

Other Steelers Draft Options

CB Greedy Williams, LSU. If the Steelers want a longer and more athletic corner, Williams could fit the bill here.

EDGE Montez Sweat, Mississippi State and EDGE Clelin Ferrell, Clemson. The Steelers have a knack for scooping up falling talents. Both Sweat and Ferrell would qualify.
