The Vikings almost have to pick an offensive lineman here. They invested so much in Kirk Cousins, yet the protection around him last year was suspect. If they want Cousins to reach his full potential, they will need to improve their offensive line.

All of the top sure-fire tackle candidates are off the board, so the Vikings will settle for a versatile player who could play inside or outside.

Ford is a massive blocker who found success as the right tackle at Oklahoma. His athletic testing implies that he should probably be a road-grader at guard for the NFL, but he could succeed on the right side. The Vikings could try him at tackle with Brian O’Neill moving inside to guard or they could just plug Ford in at guard and get a certain upgrade for their blocking. It seems that barring an elite player falling, the Vikings will target offensive line help here.

Other Vikings Draft Options

OL Garrett Bradbury, NC State. The Vikings need offensive line help and if they want an interior player, Bradbury could be the best option.

OL Chris Lindstrom, Boston College. Another offensive line option. Lindstrom is one of the most pro-ready guards in this draft, so he could garner consideration here.
