Pick 49-52

49. Cleveland Browns: CB Justin Layne, Michigan State

The Browns could use a true No. 2 cornerback across from stud No. 4 pick Denzel Ward. Justin Layne has been rising in the lead-up to the draft, and he has a long, 6-3 frame and could be a good, physical corner at the NFL level. That would complement Ward’s ability nicely, so Layne will be in the running here.

50. Minnesota Vikings: DL Dre’Mont Jones, Ohio State

The Vikings are getting a steal with Jones here. Jones is a great interior pass rusher and was the best defensive lineman on the Ohio State team after Nick Bosa’s departure last year. Jones had 8.5 sacks last season and should help to replace Sheldon Richardson on the Vikings’ defensive front. Jones could go at the end of the first round, but he falls out of circumstance here.

51. Tennessee Titans: DT Jerry Tillery, Notre Dame

The Titans could use an upgrade at nose tackle in their 3-4 defense. Jerry Tillery would qualify. Had Tillery been a consistent player on defense, he may have earned first-round looks from teams. Instead, he seems likely to be a Day 2 pick. Tillery has a big 6-7 frame and should fill out well in the NFL. He has really good pass rushing ability (seven sacks at Notre Dame last year) so he play well in all facets in the NFL.

52. Pittsburgh Steelers: LB Mack Wilson, Alabama

The Steelers couldn’t get linebacker help in the first round, so they’ll be happy if Mack Wilson makes it to them here. Wilson was a solid all-around player at Alabama and should be a three-down linebacker at the NFL level. However, there are some minor character concerns surrounding him, so that could push him a bit further into Day 2 than some are expecting.
