After grabbing an offensive weapon for Aaron Rodgers with their first pick, the Packers will turn their attention to adding protection for their franchise quarterback.
The Packers have good play at the tackle positions and a solid center. However, their guard play has been suspect at times and leaves Rodgers susceptible to interior pressure. The team clearly thought it was an issue, as they massively overpaid Billy Turner in free agency to start at one guard position for them.
However, Turner may not get a chance to do that if the Packers look to draft an offensive lineman. And Chris Lindstrom is arguably the best player on the board here.
Lindstrom has excellent technique as he was coached up well at Boston College, a notorious factory for offensive linemen. He could start right away for the Packers at either left or right guard, and he would do a lot to shore up their protection. He tested much better than expected athletically and he interviewed well, too. So, that could causeh is stock to catch fire and push him into the early 20s. But for now, the Packers are lucky to land him here.
Green Bay could also consider adding Noah Fant with this pick, but they may wait on adding a tight end with Jimmy Graham still in tow, especially if the team has already added an offensive playmaker like Metcalf to their arsenal.
