Dwayne Haskins. 6. player. 31. . Quarterback. Ohio State

The saga surrounding the Giants interest in Dwayne Haskins has been a strange one.

There first was a report that the Giants had very little interest in Haskins, to the point where they weren’t even scouting him. Then there were rumors that John Mara didn’t like Haskins because radio personality Mike Francesca didn’t like Haskins. Then the Giants hosted Haskins to a private meeting.

Is it interest? Or is it just a team trying to cover its own reputation? It makes sense for the Giants to do this kind of thing, but theoretical interest in Haskins would also make sense, if the Giants took the time to study him. Haskins isn’t a home run prospect, but he’s a very smart player who processes quickly on the field and has an arm just good enough to make all the throws.

Haskins isn’t the transcendent quarterback talent, but he’s a more-than-capable distributor for a Giants offense that needs an upgrade, from both a performance quality and a value standpoint.
