Should the Redskins draft Nasir Adderley?

The possibility of the Redskins drafting Nasir Adderley depends on two factors: Do they plan on testing the remaining free agent safeties, and do they plan on giving Montae Nicholson another chance?

There are still some options left in the free agent market that would pair well with Landon Collins, most notably Tre Boston. The veteran is still young, at just 26 years old, and his strong suit is coverage, as he’s amassed good ball production over the past few seasons.

The Redskins could sign Boston, or another safety, or they could give Montae Nicholson another chance. Nicholson showed promise in the single high role in his rookie season, and in the early goings of his second season. His off-field incident needs to be dealt with, but if the team is willing to give him another chance, he has the talent to be a cheap in-house solution opposite Collins.

If the Redskins are already turning their attention to the draft, however, and if Montae Nicholson isn’t in their plans, then Nasir Adderley has to command attention with the possibility of a trade back. He might not be worth the pick at No. 15, but late in Round 1, Adderley is a unique possibility who could be the missing piece in a top-tier safety duo for the Redskins.
