35. . Offensive Lineman. Oklahoma. Cody Ford. 19. player

The mini-run of offensive linemen continues here as Cody Ford is the third player at the position off the board in the last three picks. And the reason for slotting here is simple.

Last season, there was a game in which Marcus Mariota was sacked 11 times. You read that right. Eleven times…in one game. Considering that Mariota is already a brittle quarterback, the Titans can’t let that happen again and will need to invest in some better protection.

The problem for the Titans comes on the interior of the line, as Quinton Spain and Josh Kline are merely average starters at best. They need to find a powerful guard to play along with Taylor Lewan and Jack Conklin on the ends, and Ford should be just that.

Hot. 3 players that could fall into Redskins' lap at 15. light

Ford was a monster blocker at Oklahoma, as he played on the right side of the line and helped pave the way for the team’s offense. However, Ford has athletic limitations that were on display at the combine. He should be kept at guard because of this, but he will have Pro Bowl potential at that position.

Ford (6-3, 329 pounds) has an NFL ready body and should be a plug-and-play starter from Day 1. The Titans will be happy to have him and will be happy to continue to improve their protection and ground game.

Other options with this pick include pass-catching options like TE Noah Fant or WR A.J. Brown.
