2019 NFL Draft Mock 3.0: What if the Redskins traded back?
By Ian Cummings
The Tennessee Titans somehow lucked into grabbing Harold Landry in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Landry would go on to have a modest rookie season, flashing his potential as a rusher with adequate bend.
Landry locks down one side of the line for Tennessee, but with Brian Orakpo retiring, the Titans need to add someone else. Given Mike Vrabel’s defensive background, and the work he once did with Houston linebackers Jadaveon Clowney and Whitney Mercilus, he’ll want to fill the looming void sooner rather than later.
Jachai Polite fulfills the intended purpose, in that case. The Florida product has perhaps some of the best speed off the line in this NFL Draft class, and he exploded onto the scene in 2018, logging 19.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 sacks, four pass deflections, and six forced fumbles.
Polite is a bit on the small side for an NFL edge rusher, but he makes up for it with his exceptional burst. And speed isn’t the only trait to his name. By combining it with a vast array of rushing moves, Polite brings a potent punch wherever he goes.
