54. . Wide Receiver. Eagles. Golden Tate. 1. player

I know that Golden Tate‘s name has lost a bit of its luster after a midseason trade from the Lions to the Eagles. In new surroundings in Philadelphia, Tate failed to mesh with the Eagles’ offense and didn’t have a big impact on the squad. Still, Tate has some talent and may end up being a good fit for the Redskins, with or without Crowder on the team.

Tate has long been one of the league’s best receivers after the catch. He led the league in yards after the catch in 2017 and finished 23rd last season despite a down year. He has great elusive ability and solid speed, so that should help him to be a quality weapon for a few more years.

For the Redskins, a team that has previously lacked receiving weapons, Tate would be a welcome addition. He could become the team’s No. 1 target and at the very least, he could help open up the slot a bit more for Crowder. Or, if Crowder is gone, Tate would be a more than adequate replacement.

The only concern with adding Tate at this point is that he will turn 31 before the start of the season. So, his timeline for winning might not fit with that of the Redskins. Still, if they are searching for a true upgrade at receiver, they could ink him to a three-year deal and if things don’t work out for the team, they could always trade him. Plus, receivers can play well into their mid-30s, so he may still have a handful of good years left.

The ‘Skins probably won’t find a true threat in this year’s free agent receiver crop. They could find a strong No. 2 receiver and some depth, but they’re better off searching the 2019 NFL Draft to find reinforcements in what looks like a very good receiver class.
