27. player. 28. . Wide Receiver. Oklahoma. Marquise Brown

The Raiders tried to make a move for a deep threat last year by trading a third-round pick for Martavis Bryant. Suffice to say, that did not pan out at all, as Bryant was on and off the roster and is facing a potential indefinite suspension from the league.

The Raiders’ receiving corps really didn’t show much ability last year following the trade of Amari Cooper. Jordy Nelson looks like he’s on his last legs, and while Marcell Ateman showed some nice jump-ball ability, he’s merely a red-zone threat or tertiary option at the best.

That said, the Raiders really need to try and find a No. 1 receiver. Given that they seemed to want to add a speed threat, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown could interest them with their third pick in the first round.

Brown was a dynamic playmaker in each of the past two seasons at Oklahoma. Working with Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, Brown combined to catch 132 passes for 2,413 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was one of the more dynamic playmakers in the country and won consistently with his deep speed.

For the NFL level, Brown could develop into a playmaker similar to T.Y. Hilton. Both have great speed and solid route-running ability, but there are some concerns about the size of both. Hilton has obviously turned into a great NFL receiver, so the concerns were not really warranted in the end for him. Meanwhile, Brown’s thin, 168-pound frame may not hold up well if he takes too many hits. Whatever team drafts him will have to help him bulk up a bit in order for him to avoid suffering injury issues.

Brown would be a good top option for the Raiders’ defense. Derek Carr will certainly be glad to have a top-caliber talent to throw to — though he did struggle to ever create chemistry with Cooper, so that is something to watch.
