44. . Defensive Tackle. Clemson. Christian Wilkins. 14. player

The Falcons need to add some talent in the trenches next to Grady Jarrett. Their defense was much better when they had Dontari Poe, but he defected for Carolina.

Christian Wilkins is arguably the best player on the board here. The Clemson defensive lineman was dominant during the 2018 season and College Football Playoff. He looks like a hard-to-move player at the next level, and he should be a solid interior pass rusher.

Playing alongside a plethora of NFL talent at Clemson, Wilkins was a force to be reckoned with. He averaged 10 tackles for loss and four sacks per year during his four-year college career. For a defensive tackle in a 4-3 scheme, those are some good numbers.

Wilkins has the size needed to be effective at the next level at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds. He has a good first step and should be able to use his strength and power to get into the backfield. The Falcons had previous success in getting Jarrett from Clemson, so teaming those two up with Takk McKinley on the edge would be a nice proposition for the defensive line.

Jeffery Simmons could also get consideration here, but Wilkins should have a chance to leapfrog Simmons at the Combine.
