9. OL Tony Bergstrom

Bergstrom has been a solid part of the team’s backup group on the interior offensive line. He can play both center and guard so that versatility helps him out.

However, in the grand scheme of things, Bergstrom is merely a replacement player. He is a middle-of-the-pack performer among backups and the team could stand to upgrade him.

This becomes especially true when considering that Bergstrom will be turning 33 before the start of the 2019 season. Bergstrom has no upside at this point, so he will only be what he is. And that is, at best, an average backup. They will probably look at some interior offensive linemen in the draft, so that might be the route to take if they let Bergstrom walk.

Still, Bergstrom has been with the Redskins for a couple of seasons and has 22 games and 11 starts with the squad. He would bring familiarity and continuity on the line, so the team should definitely consider re-signing him. He’s just not as big a priority as some of the team’s other free agents.
