Washington Redskins 2018 season offensive line grades

Ty Nsekhe
Another year, another surprisingly adequate performance from a guy who was born two months after Back to the Future came out in theaters.
I apologize if I made you feel old. You are not old. But Ty Nsekhe is old, for football standards. At 33 years old, he’s past the point at which many players start to regress. But for years, Nsekhe has had a reputation as one of the NFL’s best reserve linemen, and in 2018, he did nothing but strengthen that reputation.
Playing in fourteen games, and starting five of them at either guard or tackle, Nsekhe didn’t allow a single sack. Using his length and technical prowess as a mammoth 6-foot-8 lineman, he functioned as a sixth-starter for the Redskins, providing solid play when it was needed. He did amount for five penalties, but it doesn’t change the fact that his play was very solid, given the role he was asked to fill.
As an aging player, Nsekhe will always have doubts surrounding him. But even at 33, he doesn’t have considerable wear, or a recent injury history. In a limited role, there’s a chance he could maintain his competence for at least another year. As an unrestricted free agent, however, in a league that always needs offensive line depth, Nsekhe might’ve played himself into a new destination. If so, good for him.
