Luke Bowanko

A good thing to say about Luke Bowanko‘s 2018 season? Well, he’s a Washington Capitals fan.

Aside from that…

In Bowanko’s defense, he came to the Redskins in a tough time, thrust into a substantial role far too soon. He was also asked to play out of position, at guard (His natural position is center).

That said, Bowanko was not very good in 2018. Playing at both left guard and right guard, Bowanko played in seven games, starting three of them. In the process, he logged over 200 snaps on offense.

With all those snaps, however, Bowanko couldn’t find a rhythm. In seven games, he allowed three sacks, sacks that ended up losing the Redskins 28 total yards. From both a size and strength standpoint, he was outmatched at guard. It happens.
