No. 2 – Greg Stroman takes at least one snap at wide receiver

I’m zero for one with these kinds of predictions so far; Tim Settle did not, in fact, play on the offensive line in Week 15 against the Giants. But that only means it’s more likely this time around that injuries force a Redskins player to play out of position, right?

Well, maybe not. But even if the Redskins are miserable, the fans don’t have to be.

In fairness to Greg Stroman, he’s done an above-average job as a cornerback this season, and he’s seen much more action than what was intended for him. He logged his first career interception just a few weeks ago, against the Buccaneers, and he’s consistently been one of Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded rookie cornerbacks. Stroman could have a future in a greater role with Washington.

But on Sunday, injuries to a riddled, five-man unit on offense will force Stroman into a different kind of role. As a player with return experience, he has experience trying to make players miss. And as a cornerback, he has experience making plays on the ball. It’s simply meant to be.
