No. 5 – Harlan Miller logs one interception

Who’s Harlan Miller, you ask? Well, the Redskins are probably asking themselves the same thing.

The Redskins signed Miller to their active roster on December 18, in order to restock the depth of the secondary after both Joshua Holsey and Danny Johnson were placed on injured reserve. He was active for the team’s game against Tennessee, but didn’t log any notable defensive snaps.

Miller, 24, isn’t the first player that comes to mind as an interception candidate in Week 17. But at this point in the season, teams like Washington aren’t obligated to the best lineup. Depth players will have opportunities, and that paves the way for absolutely random accomplishments to be achieved.

Ironically, Miller’s theoretical interception on Sunday wouldn’t be his first; his first came in the final week of the 2016 season, when he was a reserve safety for the Arizona Cardinals as a sixth-round rookie. The stars are aligning for Miller once again, this time in Washington, with a team that has nothing to play for, and no starting free safety, with D.J. Swearinger now out west.

The Redskins have a void, and while Miller might not fill it, he’ll at least pretend to for one or two plays.
