Compared to the other teams in the College Football Playoff, the Irish don’t have as many big names. They are a well-rounded squad that doesn’t have a ton of big-name guys on either side of the ball. That said, they still have a lot of pro-level talent, and that includes Julian Love.

It’s not a given that Love will declare for the draft, but he has a solid resume. Notre Dame’s top corner has had a very good season, and he has emerged as a solid tackler who has good ball skills (as evidenced by his 35 pass defenses in the past two years). If he declares, he should have a good shot at being a Day 2 pick.

The ‘Skins could have a need at the corner position if they part ways with Josh Norman this offseason. Norman is due a hefty sum of money but will only incur a dead cap hit of $6 million if released. That seems to have a strong chance of happening.

While Fabian Moreau and Quinton Dunbar have looked good this season, when healthy, and Greg Stroman has flashed a bit as well, the team would definitely need to add some depth to their cornerback corps. Love could be an ideal fit, as the team has shown a penchant for grabbing Day 2 corners in the last two drafts (Moreau, Kendall Fuller) so if they need a corner, Love could get some consideration.

If Love can show well against Clemson, that would help his draft stock. Redskins fans should try to get to know him a bit, as he is one of the few Notre Dame players that would make sense for the team in 2019.
