Redskins Christmas Wish List: Late-season mock draft
Mid-rounds
Round 3: Caleb Wilson, TE, UCLA
Jordan Reed rarely puts together a full healthy season and is quickly becoming an afterthought whenever the Redskins play in December. Vernon Davis is also starting to show signs of slowing down along with minimal blocking skills. Wilson will take a bit of time to develop, but he brings a solid blocking and receiving skill set. Wilson will need to add about 15 pounds of bulk and muscle.
Round 3 (Comp Pick): Juan Thornhill, SS, Virginia

Has D.J. Swearinger alienated coaches and players alike in recent weeks? Is his act wearing thin in the front office? Is his mouth bigger than his skill sets? These questions were answered when the team cut Swearinger on Christmas Eve. Thornhill is a smart and savvy player at strong safety. He has good size, speed, and the intangibles to excel at the next level.
Round 5: Corbin Kaufusi, DE, Brigham Young
Here is what I wrote about Kaufusi in the previous mock:
"Kaufusi is a bit raw, but has a ton of potential. He stands 6-foot-9 and weighs in at 285. He can add bulk to his frame and be a true defensive end or play edge. He’s strong, powerful, deceptively quick, and would likely need a year to adjust to the NFL. Kaufusi has a 6’1” sister who can likely out-lift you with considerable ease – tallness and strength runs in the family. Matt Ioannidis was a fifth round selection. Can lightning strike twice?"
Some draft pundits do have him as an edge only, but his potential is better on the line.
Round 5 (Comp Pick): Wes Hills, RB, Slippery Rock
While the Redskins tend to shun prospects from smaller schools and typically prefer power five conference players, Hills is too talented to ignore. He transferred from Delaware earlier this year and played his final season for The Rock. At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Hills is a powerful, bruising back. He would do well in a power scheme and could also serve time at fullback when needed.
