No. 5 – Reality Is, the Redskins have no margin for error in their formula to make the playoffs

Any Redskins fan paying attention knows that it’s virtually impossible for Washington to make the playoffs without winning out. The formula is simple, and there’s no margin for error.

What some Redskins fans still don’t realize is that the Redskins have a similarly limited formula for winning games, with a similarly limited margin for error. The Redskins will not beat the Titans if they allow a special teams touchdown. They will not beat the Titans if they lose the turnover battle. They will not beat the Titans if they allow Derrick Henry to run for over 100 yards. They will not beat the Titans if Adrian Peterson doesn’t run for more than 60 yards. They will not beat the Titans if Tress Way doesn’t have his typical All-Pro day pinning the Titans back. They will not beat the Titans if Kerrigan, Payne, and Allen don’t have great games.

However, if they can check all of those boxes, they could win. And if they win, can you imagine the build-up to a season-ending home game versus Philadelphia? The backup quarterback bowl? Johnson vs. Foles for a playoff berth. Wow. What a story that would be.

It may not have looked pretty at time, but it sure is fun to have meaningful Redskins games to watch in December, friends. Enjoy it while you can.
