The coaching in this game will likely be a critical factor. In this type of potential winner-take-all game, aggressive play-calling is very important. Doug Pederson has shown a penchant for trusting his offense almost to a fault at times this year. So, he should have the advantage over Jay Gruden there, as Gruden’s team construction dictates he coach a bit more conservatively.

Additionally, as we’ve mentioned a few times, the home-field advantage will be huge for the Eagles. It’s a Monday night, prime-time game for the reigning Super Bowl champs. With a win, they climb back into the playoff race. With a loss, their Super Bowl hangover will have lasted too long, and they may miss out. They should come out ready with intensity. The Redskins can’t afford to show up flat.

All that said, everything just seems to be tilting in favor of the Eagles this week. They have an opportunity to seize momentum and right the ship. And if Dallas loses to New Orleans, they could climb back into first place with a win over the ‘Skins.

The Redskins should fight hard, but ultimately, this will be the Eagles’ day. Expect a sizable win by Philadelphia and expect the divisional race to get a lot more interesting moving forward.
