3. Reality Is, the Cowboys have made two major changes for the better since the Redskins beat them in Week 7.

The Cowboys are 7.5 point favorites in this game due in large part to a three-point swing after Alex Smith’s injury. However, they were favored by 4.5 points before that. Having lost to Washington earlier in the season, and two games behind them in the standings at the time the line was set, this may seem a bit odd.

However, it has much to do with the recent improvements made by the Cowboys. The change to Marc Colombo as offensive line coach has had a positive impact on the performance of the Cowboys’ offensive line, both in run blocking and pass protection. And the addition of Amari Cooper has provided a significant boost to the overall passing attack.

I’ll be watching to see if these changes impact the Redskins’ defensive strategy against Dallas. I’ll also be watching to see if Norman travels with Cooper.

Prediction: These changes paired with the Redskins’ quarterback swap will lead to this game looking very little like the Week 7 tilt. This game will likely be much more wide open with more yards, more points, and more turnovers. Expect more mistakes from both sides and expect the intensity and pace to pick up.
