2. QB Mark Sanchez

I can’t believe I’m writing this, but Mark Sanchez is one of the better options on the market. The Sanchize is certainly one of the bigger busts at quarterback from the last decade, but he can still sometimes get the job done as a starter. And for Jay Gruden’s offense, his fit seems solid.

Sanchez always struggled with accuracy early in his NFL career, but he corrected that issue a bit when he joined the Philadelphia Eagles. Chip Kelly helped him to improve and in spot work as a starter, Sanchez was decent for the Eagles.

During his two-year Philadelphia career, Sanchez went 4-6 as a starter and completed 64 percent of his passes for 3,034 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 15 picks. He turns the ball over way too much, but in the right system, he can be accurate and get the ball to his receivers. And at this point in the season, there aren’t many available players that can do that.

There are still some major concerns with Sanchez. First of all, he hasn’t played in the regular season since 2016 when he was on the Cowboys. And during that season, Sanchez was dreadful when he got into the game. Still, Sanchez was good enough to be rostered by the Bears in 2017, so there’s a chance that he could still do something if needed.

Sanchez has some mobility, improved accuracy, and while he turns the ball over a lot, he has more arm talent than most of the other quarterbacks available. As a backup, you can get by with him and if pressed into action, there’s at least a chance he can be efficient enough to lead your team to victory. That’s all you can ask for.
