No. 3 – CB Josh Norman

Veteran cornerback Josh Norman called out the home crowd after the team’s victory in Tampa Bay last Sunday. In the heat of the moment, his comments were taken out of context, but they also lacked that same context. This Sunday, Norman will hear from onlookers if he doesn’t live up to expectations.

It doesn’t help that Quinton Dunbar might be ruled out for Sunday’s game. If Dunbar can’t go, then Greg Stroman will likely fill in across from Norman, and subsequently, Norman will be tasked with shadowing Deandre Hopkins, one of the best, most well-rounded wide receivers in the game.

It’s not an ideal situation for Norman, but the steely sniper hasn’t shied away from the spotlight in 2018. Nearing 31 years of age, Norman is past the mark of the traditional cornerback cliff, but he’s still providing the Redskins with quality play.

After going without an interception last season, Norman has two through nine games in 2018, and if he keeps guarding top-tier receivers, more opportunities are bound to come this way. He’ll need to be on top of his game against the Texans’ offense, for both his sake and the team’s.
