No. 5 – Redskins must continue to win the turnover battle

While Alex Smith did not have his best game as a Redskin against the Cowboys, he once again came out victorious as a starting quarterback. One reason Alex Smith has lasted so long and has had success is because he does not turn the ball over. He makes smart decisions and will not force something that isn’t there. He keeps his teams in games and doesn’t lose them by trying to do too much. He must continue to take what the defense gives him Sunday and play smart football.

The last couple games, the defense has been taking the ball away almost at will. They forced three turnovers against the Panthers and made a tough defensive stand on the final drive. They forced two fumbles against the Cowboys, turning one recovery into a Preston Smith touchdown. If they continue to make plays and win the turnover battle Sunday, there is a very good chance they improve to 5-2.
