No. 3 – Redskins cannot settle for field goals in the red zone

Too many times this season, the Redskins have left points on the field by having to settle for a field goal when they get inside the 20.

Being on the road in a hostile environment against a division opponent, the Redskins have to finish drives with a touchdown when they have the chance. Twice against Dallas, Dustin Hopkins kicked field goals from inside the 10-yard line. Alex Smith had some chances last game and simply missed them. This cannot happen in Week 8.

Good teams finish drives with touchdowns, and letting an inferior team hang around instead of putting them away is not a recipe for success. If the Redskins cannot find the end zone against the Giants and allow New York to stay in the game in the 4th quarter, they might not be as lucky as they were the last two close games.
