No. 5 Redskins must make the Panthers score on long drives

If the Redskins want to win against at home Sunday, they must avoid the same mental lapses that they allowed to happen against the Saints with penalties and blown coverage’s in the secondary allowing for easy touchdowns.

Far too often, what has been a pretty stingy defense thus far, gave up massive chunks of yards to the Saints. This cannot happen against the Panthers. Carolina has the weapons to beat the Redskins if the defense struggles again this week.

Greg Manusky must have everybody on the same page this week and being in charge of the defense, must also put together a great defensive game plan to keep Cam Newton in check and make the Panthers earn what they do get on offense. This means no big plays, no stupid penalties, and keeping Carolina in third and long.
