1. Redskins limit Cam Newton to 175 passing yards, 0 passing TDs

This would be a huge win for the Redskins. Cam Newton hasn’t been great as a passer during his NFL career, and he is often prone to hot and cold streaks. If the ‘Skins can get him on a cold streak to start the game, that would be huge in helping them emerge victoriously.

After the embarrassment against New Orleans on Monday night, one would have to imagine that the Washington defense is ready to prove that game was just a blip on the radar. They should come out motivated and play with intensity, and the secondary will especially be looking to blanket the Panthers passing weapons.

Considering that Devin Funchess has been mediocre this year, D.J. Moore hasn’t yet broken out, and Greg Olsen is just now returning from a foot injury, the Redskins would seemingly have the upper hand in terms of covering the Panthers receivers. Sure, Newton and company will be able to move the ball a bit, but if the ‘Skins play hard, they can make it very difficult for the Panthers to move the ball.

Overall, seeing the team limit Newton to less than 175 passing yards would be a big win. That has already happened twice this year in four games, but it would still be a major accomplishment. And if they could limit him to no passing TDs, that would also be huge. It’s a bold proposition, but it’s certainly something that Greg Manusky‘s unit could accomplish in Week 6.
