No. 4 – Redskins must get pressure on Drew Brees

While Ryan Kerrigan has not filled the stat sheet in the manner he might like, he is still getting pressures and drawing the attention of offensive lines and coordinators alike.

Matt Ioannidis is also quietly developing into a force on the edge, getting a sack in each of the first three games, and both Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne are off to strong starts as well.

All of these players must have good games against New Orleans. Both of these team’s strengths lie in the trenches, and this will be a great matchup that the Redskins must win.

Getting the offense into third and long will allow for Greg Manusky to give the defense some complex looks and dial up the timely blitz. The Redskins have had a good pass rush early on this season and will need to get to the quarterback if they are going to win. Drew Brees is too good to be given time to sit back and pick his targets.
