4. Reality Is, if Ryan Kerrigan and Preston Smith don’t step up, it’s time to panic.

Ryan Kerrigan has been the model of consistency in his NFL career, never having missed a game, and never opening a season sackless in three games. If he and Preston Smith put up another goose-egg in the sack column on Sunday, the Redskins need to seriously consider trading for or signing some help at that position over the bye. This is a passing league, and if you can’t get pressure on the QB consistently, you are going to get picked apart.

Also, with Drew Brees and Cam Newton next on the schedule, the Redskins had better get the pass rush on track this week.

I will be excited to see both Smith and Kerrigan get off the schneid with at least one sack each. I will be disappointed if our only sacks come in garbage time.

Prediction: Kerrigan gets one sack thanks to great coverage. Smith goes off with two sacks and a forced turnover.
