Redskins vs. Packers: Week 3 offense and defense matchups, score prediction
Score prediction
I really thought the Redskins would come through and beat the Colts in Week 2. Things just seemed to be looking up for them. In a matchup with a tougher opponent, it’s hard to see them succeed.
The Packers are better than the Colts in almost all facets of the game. Perhaps with more energy, the Redskins can at least make this interesting, but it’s still going to be extremely hard for the squad to compete with the Packers. They would need a massive offensive output to keep up with Rodgers, and that just doesn’t seem likely.
At the end of the day, I expect that Mike McCarthy will have the last laugh and that his squad will send the ‘Skins into the bye week with a disappointing 1-2 record. It’s just hard to envision a scenario where Gruden and company can rally the troops and get a win.
Of course, that’s what we thought in Week 3 last year. And in that game, the Redskins shut down the Raiders and established themselves as a solid team. It’s possible they could surprise again, but it just seems far more likely that they will not do it.
