Postgame Redskins Reality Checks for Week 1 at Arizona
By Tim Payne
No. 4 – Reality is, we don’t know what we’re going to get out of Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson.
I said I’d be thrilled with a combined 12 catches for 180 yards, six carries for 30 yards, and two touchdowns. I’d be disappointed with under 150 scrimmage yards and no scores. I predicted these guys to get 18 touches for 150 yards and one touchdown, and I expected to wish I had both on my fantasy team this week.
The reality was, Chris Thompson went for 128 yards and one touchdown on 11 touches while Jordan Reed added four catches for 48 yards and another touchdown. This all happened with both playing very sparingly the entire second half, since the game was largely over by halftime.
Reality Check: Color me thrilled. If those two players keep putting up these kinds of numbers, the Redskins can compete with anyone in this league.
