Score Prediction

So scores don’t matter in the preseason. We’ve covered that quite a bit. But score predictions are fun. So that’s what we’re gonna do.

The Redskins match up well against the Jets. The Jets aren’t quite as deep as the Patriots, and they’ve had some injury issues of their own (per Luis Tirado Jr. of The Jet Press), so they’ll likely give their reserves most of the day to show their worth.

Matched up against second and third stringers, Washington, from a team standpoint, should be able to stick close to the Jets. They have depth at almost every position, particularly on the defensive side of the ball, where reserves like Tim Settle, Shaun Dion Hamilton, and Danny Johnson flashed against New England.

Nevertheless, as we saw in Week 1, a lot of the game hinges on the shoulders of the quarterback, and while the Jets don’t have a starter of Alex Smith’s caliber, they do have three starting-caliber quarterbacks. That alone should help the Jets outlast Washington.

Final Score: Jets 24, Redskins 21
