Redskins mid-training camp 2018 schedule prediction
Week 9 – Atlanta Falcons at Washington Redskins
For the Redskins, it won’t be a breath of fresh air moving on to a non-division foe, because the Atlanta Falcons are no joke. I have the Falcons at 4-3 heading into their bye week, which is right before they come to Washington.
In a tight NFC South, the Falcons will need to win this game. It helps that they are coming off a bye, in which everyone will be well-rested. Dan Quinn and Matt Ryan will make sure that the Falcons are ready to enter the second half of their season with a statement.
I don’t think the Redskins will be able to contain the Falcons’ outside threats in Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Assuming that Jones is still happy after his new contract, Atlanta will be able to dominate in the passing game.
Despite this, Smith and the Redskins will hold their own. Doctson and Richardson will show that they aren’t a tandem to be taken lightly. Expect Crowder and Reed to make their presence known as well.
After a stop on a crucial third down late in the game, the Redskins will be forced to punt the football. The Falcons will then set up Matt Bryant for a game-winning field goal; a heart breaker for Redskins fans.
